We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer to work on metering systems in STN2 substations and power stations across the UK.
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Head Office in Southampton (Field-Based Across the UK)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Negotiable: Dependent on level of experience
This is a field-based role with occasional travel to workshops and training at Southampton HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
-Commission metering equipment to recognised standards
-Perform accuracy checks, fault investigation, rectification, and maintenance
-Work from electrical drawings and apply safe working practices
-Travel across substations in the UK (Monday–Friday, occasional weekends)
Requirements:
-3+ years’ experience in electricity substations
-Skilled in 3-phase energy systems and secondary injection kits
-Full, clean UK driving license
-Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
Desirable:
-National Grid / Competent Person, BESC, Safety Passport
-Working at Height, First Aid
-Craft/Technician apprenticeship, ONC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
