JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION –Chester
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client design and manufacture high-tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Chester on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
- 4 or more years’ of experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
- Experience with identifying new routes for continuous improvement
- Experience developing ways to manage and better processes within the company
- Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes
- Have a methodical approach to work
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
- Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Developing new avenues for Continuous development and process management
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
