School Cook (Temporary Cover)
Location: Knottingley
Pay: GBP15 per hour
Hours: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary,
ASAP start for 4 weeks
We are seeking a School Cook to provide temporary cover for a school kitchen in. This is an immediate start role for approximately 2-4 weeks.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing and serving nutritious, delicious, and healthy meals for children and staff in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking a variety of fresh meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements.

Ensuring all food preparation and storage adheres to strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Assisting with stock management, including accepting deliveries and rotating stock.
*
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
*
Working efficiently to a strict schedule to ensure meals are ready on time for service.

Collaborating with other kitchen staff to deliver a high-quality service.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a cook in a school, care home, or similar high-volume catering environment.

A valid Enhanced DBS check is essential.

A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate is highly desirable.
*
Reliable, punctual, and able to start immediately.
