Reeson Education is recruiting a resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in the M23 area of Wythenshawe. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils who are not in mainstream education and require a tailored approach to learning.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with students aged 11 to 16 who present with a wide variety of complex needs, including SEMH, behavioural challenges, and additional learning difficulties. The school is looking for a confident, adaptable, and compassionate Learning Support Assistant who can build strong relationships, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils access education in a supportive environment.
Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support across KS3 and KS4
* Work with pupils with SEMH and complex needs to encourage engagement
* Support behaviour management strategies as a proactive Learning Support Assistant
* Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual needs
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote progress
* Support pupils with social and emotional development as a Learning Support Assistant
* Maintain consistency and structure in daily routines
* Ensure safeguarding and welfare policies are followed at all times
* Be a reliable, calm, and adaptable presence as a Learning Support Assistant
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
* Previous experience working with SEMH pupils or in a specialist provision
* Resilience, patience, and confidence managing challenging behaviour
* A flexible and dynamic approach to supporting learning
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness )
* Full commitment to a permanent Learning Support Assistant role
