Their Sixth Form focuses on providing an ambitious and comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for adulthood. Please note that, as a SEND setting, Sixth Form teaching is not higher than entry level and focuses on skills for independence, employability, and life beyond school.

* Supports students' holistic development - academic, social, emotional, and physical.
* Works closely with families, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.

Trial Day:

Each trial will involve teaching Science lessons with our SLD cohort. Classes have around 6 students each, and lessons should be accessible, engaging, and differentiated to meet their needs.

* First lesson (Year 9): Topic - Timers and Timing (40 minutes)
* Second lesson (Year 7): Topic - Sound and Hearing (40 minutes)

* Fourth lesson (Year 11 Entry Level): Pre-planned lesson provided for the teacher

This format will give you the opportunity to demonstrate both subject knowledge and the ability to adapt Science content to a SEND setting.

Science Teacher Attributes:

* QTS is essential (candidates can be secondary trained or upper primary trained).
* SEND experience is desirable but not essential - passion, adaptability and creativity are key.
* Someone who can differentiate learning, engage students with varied abilities, and promote independence.
* A teacher committed to delivering accessible Science lessons and supporting Sixth Form students at entry level.
* A collaborative professional with strong communication skills.

Benefits:

* A long-term teaching role with ongoing professional support.
* The chance to make a real difference in students' lives by helping them prepare for adulthood.
* Paid trial days this week so you can experience the role and school environment first-hand.
* Opportunities for professional growth in a well-supported SEND setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Science Teacher who wants to combine subject expertise with a student-centred, holistic approach in a rewarding SEND environment.
