Our established client is recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of solutions for supply throughout the world, and are looking to recruit an experienced, hands-on and proactive Interim Fixed Term Stock Controller to complement their professional and successful manufacturing team.
Basednear Coleshill and reporting to the Logistics & Warehouse Manager, the Stock Controller will be stationed in the distribution warehouse in what is a very "hands on" role, and be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate stock levels across the business, ensuring materials, components, and finished goods are correctly recorded, stored, and distributed in line with operational requirements. The Stock Controller plays a key role in supporting production and customer fulfilment through effective stock management and reporting, and core duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Maintaining accurate record of inventory using stock management systems in accordance with company standards.
* Monitoring and regulating stock levels to comply with defined inventory parameters and reducing excess or obsolete stock.
* Conducting regular cycle counts and lead full stock takes, ensuring stock accuracy.
* Analysing inventory data to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
* Providing regular reporting on inventory accuracy, stock variances, and RCA.
* Managing stock consolidation, relocation, and internal transfers to optimise space and improve stock availability.
* Ensuring the proper handling, storage, and organisation of stock
* Collaborating with Purchasing to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock based on demand forecasts.
* Working closely with Production teams to ensure product availability and consistent quality.
* Liaising with the Warehouse team to ensure accurate stock handling, recording, and storage practices.
* Investigating and resolving internal queries including any shortages.
* Analysing recurring issues, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to stock control processes.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged the successful candidate will hold a qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory Management or a related field ( CILT or APICS/ASCM certification) and at least 3 years' experience of working in an Inventory Control, warehouse, logistics or Supply Chain position. You will possess strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail skills as well as excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving abilities. Experience of using SAP or ERP software will prove distinctly advantageous, along with a high level of proficiency in the MS Suite of packages - in particular Microsoft Excel & data analysis tools.
