Position Overview
This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of a Loader. Previous experience loading trucks is preferred.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
-Operate front-end loader and other equipment safely and efficiently.
-Transport materials to and from storage and processing areas.
-Feed conveyors with aggregate materials.
-Inspect loader and other equipment for safety or maintenance issues before use.
-Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
-Create and maintain inclines and ramps for excavated materials.
-Ensure safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
-Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging.
-Operate equipment safely and efficiently across various site locations.
-Maintain time and material records.
-Understand aggregate sizes, classifications, and weight requirements for loads leaving the pit..
-May operate other construction equipment such as backhoes, track hoes, haul trucks, and water trucks.
-Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various site locations safely and efficiently.
-Follow trenching and shoring standards.
-Report unsafe conditions and use equipment properly.
-Provide support to Laborers at various job sites as needed, assisting with physically demanding tasks such as installing pipe and utility lines, participating in road construction activities, and contributing to asphalt paving operations.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Work Requirements
-Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
-Demonstrates the ability to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and memos.
-Capable of composing simple written correspondence.
-Possesses fundamental math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
-Applies practical reasoning to follow detailed yet straightforward written or verbal directions.
-Works effectively both independently and collaboratively in team environments.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
-Valid Driver’s License is preferred.
