Role Details
The purpose of this role is to educate visitors to the site by sharing our brand story and wine portfolio with confidence through wine tastings, and experiences, to drive sales and wine club acquisitions.
As a host, you will deliver wine and beverage service within the cellar door on a day-to-day basis under limited supervision and in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures.
This role will support with daily housekeeping duties, as well as stock management processes and ensure that a passion for wine and delivering an exceptional level of guest experience, is at the forefront of everything we do.
This position is a casual position, with the opportunity to work across both the Jacob’s Creek and St Hugo sites.
You will be employed on an hourly basis, with your specific hours to be determined by the needs of the business. This position is a permanent position with a weekly minimum of 24 hours but has the opportunity to flex up to 38 hours a week depending on business need.
Your Key Accountabilities

-Perform food and beverage operations and deliver excellent customer service
-Drive sales, Wine Club sign-ups, and capture customer data
-Work effectively both in a team and autonomously
-Demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to quality improvement
-Confidently use POS systems and support multiple venue operations
-Show passion for wine, ongoing learning, and effective selling
Other Accountabilities Include
Your Knowledge and Skills
Essential
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day week, including evenings and events
• Prepared to undertake any additional training to complement the requirements of the position
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
• Experience in a fast-paced wine-focused environment, or Café or Restaurant environment
• Proven track record in a sales environment
• Demonstrate a passion for wine, and desire to deliver quality wine experiences to customers
Desirable
• WSET qualification or other wine education programme
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Hospitality certification or equivalent
• Responsible Person badge
• Current Fire Warden certificate
• Barista experience
• Knowledge of other Cellar Door/ Hospitality offerings in the local area
Essential Qualifications
• Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills
